This and "Laughing Whitefish Falls" are the first of a kind for me, combining a Monotype with a Woodcut. They are the largest of anything I have done, 22 by 34 inches. After drawing and sealing the image on the woodblock, I painted it with my printmaking ink and pressed the paper to it, creating the colors of the print. I did this four times for four prints, each uniquely different. Then I carved the woodblock and printed that in black over the top of each monotype.
